I've had two 78 Royales. Both had most of the pads missing. I went to a farm supply store. And got some rubber floor mat material. Some has a deck diamond plate pattern on it. That's fine. I think that it might stay in place better. You can buy it by the foot. It comes in I believe a 36 inch wide roll. It's real close to the original pads. Close is fine. I also didn't check the durometer numbers. This isn't rock science here. A box cutter did a great job of cutting the material. I made mine a little longer than the original. Used a floor jack with a 6 by 6 on at the body cross members ONLY. Raised the body up off the frame just enough to slide the pads in. Originally they were glued to the frame as the body was lowered onto the frame. I didn't glue mine. I've seen no movement in the last 11 years. So much for the glue. It took me about one hour to put them in. Real simple job to do. Have any questions. You can call my cell any time at 319-521-4891.
