Is there an alternate replacement for the round bathroom vent other than the 14" x 14" fantastic fan? I would like a smaller one maybe closer to the size of the original round one.

Peter,
Replacing the 6” fan with a 14” skylight/vent fan will make a really big difference in your bath. It like pooping in a closet verses having natural light in your bath. My wife said that was the best addition to the bath on our first coach. All of our other coaches have the 14” units in the bath and shower areas.

It is really not that hard to install. I got this unit at a surplus store in Elkhart for about $25 dollars and you can find them a your local RV store for just a little bit more. The stretch and the avion have fantastic fans in the bath areas. Your wife will love the difference.

Peter, I know the original fan is a bit less expensive but having just replaced my non-functional original fan with the Fantastic Fan ($50 more). Pretty easy install and an ENORMOUS improvement. Just the additional light is worth the money imo. Plus now there is actual ventilation that works.

Photos of my installation are here:

And here is a link to the post where I described the process.

Also, several folks have said that there is a new fan other than "Fantastic Fan" that they prefer.

And really you are right but before cutting the hole, make sure your roof pod or whatever is up there on your roofs infrstructure will clear the 14x14" fan.  Had some problems with that.  If you can do it though having a real fan instead of the fart fan is a good thing.  You are now ready for that chilli contest with that stink puller!

Peter,

You might be able locate the fan closer to the pod if you change the orientation. Normally a 14" roof fan it placed so that the
hinge is on the forward end of the fan perpendicular to the vehicles fore - aft axis. That allows it to be left cracked open when
you drive. Since this fan will be in the bathroom that is not a requirement. You can put the hinge parallel to the side of the pod
and get it a bit closer. I don't know if you can mount it closer with the hinge towards the pod or with the side that opens towards
the pod. You would have to determine that on your GMC.
