Having a great difficulty getting the correct 11MM Belts locally. Even the Dayco that were 11mm last year are now 10mm. This may become a major problem for those of us who still use them.
You might get yourself a spare set before they disappear.

Have you seen the recent posts by Rob M., Otterwan, and Dave Mumert regarding belts?
!5/32= 11.9mm- I'll run that for a years before even thinking about serpentine belts. Or use 10mm belts and keep it adjusted.

Guys,
This is why I just published the email entitled Engine Belt Part Numbers which listed candidates from V-Belt Supply.com.
Fraction Decimal Metric
15/32 0.4688 11.9063
I have a set of belts in Houston I bought from V-Belt Supply.com. While I didn't check them with an 11mm wrench or check them with a
vernier I did wrap one around a spare pulley and it sat above the OD of the pulley. I showed it to John Sharpe and he noted that was
good.
If you look at their prices the belts are less than $4.50 each!
Chuck,
If you get a moment could you please measure the belt you just got from V-belt supply.com and if you haven't installed it yet could
you take some pictures too?

Then what? Should we look into serpentine belt setups? If I remember correctly the issue has to do with the water pump - routing
the belt makes the pump run backwards. Perhaps a short belt for the alternator and power steering pump and another short belt for
the air conditioner that wrap in the same way as our current belts might be doable.

I feel that were getting too concerned about the width and not about the sufficient tension.
I was at a industrial seminar for the filter/blower side of our business the other month and the belt rep told us that tension is the key.
I have yet to see the belts on a GMC bottom out unless it was slipping a lot and was worn down.

G'day,
Here's some additional information about the belts from V-belt Supply.Com:
15620 = $4.82
15570 = $4.82
15450 = $4.82
Subtotal $14.46
Ship $10.77
Total $25.23
I spent 20 minutes on the phone with Harold of V-Belt Supply.com discussing the merits of their belts. If you look at the cross
section of the 15570 belt on their website you will se a number of circles with three small round orange circles in them. The orange
circles represent the Kevlar reinforcement.
http://www.vbeltsupply.com/ecommerce/15570.html
Harold couldn't understand why they would be OK on an automobile and not on a GMC with the same engine. As you can see he confirmed
our conversation below and noted that anyone who wishes to discuss their Kevlar belts should feel free to contact him.

Hi Rob,
Thank you for your call today. Concerning the 15570 auto-vbelt; that belt does have Kevlar cords which make the belt stronger and
more durable. Kevlar is the same material used in bullet proof vests. We sell thousands upon thousands of these belts to people who
are using them on their cars, trucks and motor homes.
I have been working here for 2 years and I have never gotten a call from a client who said they didn't work properly or this belt
has Kevlar in it and it doesn't run in my pulleys correctly. I would think that if someone is suggesting a Kevlar belt will not
work in a motor home, we would have gotten many calls by now from customers complaining that the belts do not work properly.
All of our belts are Tested and Manufactured to Rubber Manufacturing Standards and are ISO9001 Certified.
If I can be of service please let me know and I will get to work on it right away for you.

Just go to NAPA and buy their premium belts. The ones I just bought cost about $21 each and get tighter as them warm. I'm not
betting the $5 per belt I'd save buying brand 'X' vs. changing a belt on the side of I-70.
I spoke with the guys selling kevlar belts on line, told them what I would use them for and they said..don't use kevlar for the GMC,
they won't last.

There are two types of kevlar V-belts. Kevlar wrapped and Kevlar re-inforced. Suitable automotive belts would generally be Kevlar re-inforced. The Kevlar wrapped belts are typically used on self powered yard implements. Both are recommended for more intense service than regular v-belts.
Not going to debate the suitability of either for our GMCs. ;)

Try AutoZone. Kelly-Springfield (a Goodyear owned brand) or house brand Duralast (made by Kelly-Springfield). I bought some for another GMCer about 6 months ago that were the correct width.
Still check them in case they also changed.

Alan arrived here at Sun'n'Fun last night after having lost his A/C belt
enroute, fortunately late enought that they didn't need it. Today we
stopped at AutoZone for the specified replacement, 15560. That didn't pass
the 11 mm test I imposed on it. But the 17560 did. He hasn't yet
installed it but I'm confident it will fit. I'll confirm after it's on.

More belt info. Especially for Rob, with whom I just got off of the phone.
The A/C belt which Alan lost was NOT one of those from V-Belt Supply; it
was an old, worn, one which had jumped the pulley before. His other two
belts, which are from V-Belt are still in good shape. He didn't remember
and hasn't popped the hood yet, so I can't say whether they are Kevlar
wrapped.
Oh yeah, significant information: The 17560 belt cost $2.99 -- as did
similar sizes.

Ken,
The V-BeltSupply.com belts I have in the USA aren't Kevlar wrapped they have Kevlar bands internally.

Five belts from Vbeltsuppy arrived today. All were marked 29/64" on the sleeve and four were the 11mm we seek. However, one of the two #15465s was 10mm. On the belt itself, the incorrect one is stamped "C ag 51" while the proper one is stamped "H cf 51" --so perhaps it is just a mix-up and not a downsizing.
