In an earlier post I stated that I thought the stock brakes on the Clasco were at least as good as the Manny version reaction arm disk brakes on the Royale. Now that the pads are fully seated I no longer feel that way. While the stock rear brakes on the Clasco remain very serviceable, the Royale brakes are now noticeably better, especially in aggressive braking situations. I still like the shorter pedal throw on the Clasco brakes to the longer and somewhat unnerving throw of the Royale brakes, but there is no doubt that the outcome is better. I am using the stock MC in the Royale. When a good parking brake solution becomes available I will whole heartedly endorse the conversion to the reaction arm disk brakes.

Hopefully it just takes more fluid to move the calipers than it does to move the original drums, and it is not something more sinister in the making.

Did you follow Mr. Henderson's process for disabling the metering valve in the combination valve?

i think you will find you get-
- more stopping power with small disk pads
- 1000 lb more clamping force with the oem ms
- disks auto adjust
- drum brakes are always out of adjustment
- if you look, manny gives you more, for , less
