Doing all the fuellines I found a hose from the top of the converter hanging down the side
I guess that must be a breather, though seems a little stange with this big hole on the side?
Hard to belive gmc designed a hose hanging loose
Can't find info in parts book or manual
Idears?

P.O. added feature. This is most likely a hose designed to deflect any transmission fluid coming out of the vent away from the hot exhaust system.
There is a GM installed vent at the top of the transmission for fluid to escape from an overfilled transmission, unfortunately there is no directed drain and it goes toward very hot places. Can you say "fire hazard"?
JmK sells a GM designed part that allows you to attach a piece of hose to carry the fluid away from the exhaust.
