on the steering CV joint, the edge of the ball cage is thin on one side and thick on the other side.
Which end is up?
im using the threaded side of the cap mounting holes as up, as it would be mounted in the coach.
I don't think mine has moved, as I was careful to keep it the way it belonged, but its been out several weeks now and id rather double check, than take it out again.

The tapped threads are in the bottom cap. ( Towards steering box) Bolts and aircraft lock tabs on top. ( closer to steering wheel). Hope I am understanding the question, if not, pardon the answer.

asking about the cage inside the cv joint. if you look at it one way the cage has a thin edge. if you flip the whole thing over, the edge of the same cage is wider.
im asking which side goes toward the steering wheel, the thin edge, or the thick edge.

Thank you, Rob for the links. the 3rd one down answered my question. I had seen that picture months ago while I was researching the rebuild, but could not find it again this time. I appearantly do not know how to search the photo site.
I should get it back together this week!

Donovan,
You're welcome.
Here's what the Photo Site HELP says about searching:
Searching
To start with, "Less is better" Start out with only one word to search for. If you get too many returns, narrow the
search by adding another word to the string.
Say you were searching for a pictorial describing a reminder to turn your turn signals off.
1st try signal
2nd, add turn to search the string, Search turn signal
3rd, if there's still too many returns, add buzzer, turn signal buzzer
