Brian,
I understand and can empathize with your frustration and quite frankly I hate to say it but I think it's a waste of time for anyone
who cannot put hands on your GMC to make any further suggestions. I agree with you that just changing parts is NOT the correct way
to fix the problem.
Having said that be advised that the GMCMI 2014 Fall Convention will be held from Friday, September 26 to Thursday, October 2 at the
Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. I checked and it is 890 km (553 mi) miles from Winnipeg, MB to
Chippewa Falls, WI.
If I were going to attend I would be happy to try and help you sort out the steering issues, however, Helen and I will be heading
west out of Houston this fall and won't be able to make the convention.
Is anybody going to this convention that could help Brian try and figure out what is wrong with his steering?

I have a high likelihood of being there. It's one of the few close enough for me to attend.
I have done quite a bit of work on my steering including adjusting my steering box.
Also I'm in Minneapolis. if you happen to be wandering by we can look at it any time

I think Brian would be money ahead to buy Alex F (or Dave L) a plane ticket and have him as a guest for a few days. I agree with Rob, that kind of hands on help is what he needs

Brian, If I recall from the last time this came up
http://gmc.mybirdfeeder.net/GMCforum/index.php?t=msg&goto=194724&rid=2555&srch=steering#msg_194724
you've basically had EVERYTHING done, right? We know these things drove OK from the factory and we know that most of us are satisfied if not downright happy with the way ours drives.
Logically then, there can be only a few causes.
1- SOMEONE who did some of the work did not know what they were doing. (There are lots of people who say they can do anything but it's pretty obvious that our GMC's are errrr different....yeah that's it...different.)
2- SOMEONE who said they did the work, actually just told you they did. (I have receipts from the PO of my coach for work that he paid for but I'm positive was never done.)
3- SOME component of EVERYTHING has not been checked/fixed.
In addition to the well known front end components like steering box. Several 'unusual' things could cause your problem like:
- Worn Boogie bushing...you said you checked ????
- Bad tire...even new tires can be bad
- Steering box out of phase
- ???
I'm not one of the guys who can tell you how to fix/check the steering issue but I do know that there are people here that will help you walk through things step by step as long as you are willing to 'check things that have already been done'.
If it were me, I'd seriously consider have it hauled to Dave Lenzi's and let him look at it. Think about how much you've spent and how much more you're going to spend blindly throwing money at the problem...or selling it for pennies on what you have in it if you give up on it.

I was thinking about this as I took my shower just now. I'm a do it myself guy but in my old age, I've learned it's better to do what I do well and let others do what they do well. You've spent years and lots of money working on this thing.
Dave Lenzi is in your backyard, only a few miles from you up near Flint (Davidson, MI). Pay him to drive down and tell you what is what or grit your teeth and drive the coach up to him slowly on back roads.
Time to let a pro fix it or at least tell you want is wrong. I'm betting it's the steering box....either something broken or out of phase.
Just what I'd do.
