At Branson, Forrest Crow was telling me about an alternative he discovered to the commonly used but expensive and difficult to install Panduit covers that I used on one side of our coach.

I never got around to seeing what he had but remembered it when I was redoing my interior and called him. He said he used a mobile home vinyl trim piece that he found at Lowes/Home Depot. He doesn't post on the site but he said I could do a write up for him.

I didn't find the exact same product but found something that will work.

The gallery with photos and descriptions is here:

This is the goal:

The product is vinyl siding facia, 16' feet long for 20 bucks. Some work required.

The first thing I did was cut off the old lip, leaving a 1/2" flange.

Next I used a heat gun to bend the lip into a "J".

The heat gun...

Pressing the heated plastic down while it cools. Legal declaimer....When you heat things with a heat gun, they get HOT and can cause burns and discomfort and sore heads on chickens. Care should be taken not to be stupid... Shocked Laughing

Then the panel is trimmed down to desired width. I used 4.5"...5" might have worked a bit better.

Then you just hook your newly formed "J" into the channel.

And here it is after the upper cabinet is installed.

I shortened my overhead cabinets behind the cockpit so the seats would recline. Here you can see the bare cover.

You can also see my new headliner in some of these photos. I can't believe I didn't take any photos of it. It is white Naugahyde glued to masonite shower wall with the waterproof side up. I was able to use the old headliner panels as patterns. Not as difficult as I thought it would be.
