Since so many of you have met my friend, confidant and business partner
OscarWaldo, most notably of the now closed key ring/key fob business, I
thought I would inform you that Oscar died last night at approximately 2:14
am.

http://keyrings.50megs.com/

You may have met him taking Lorraine for a walks at rallies or here at our
house when you came to visit .
For a manly male of 12 lbs., this miniature 'wire-haired' Dachshund made
an impression with many people during his years of travelling. He attended
numerous GMC rallies where his greatest thrill was checking p-mail at
least twice a day.

In the GMC, he has been across Canada and visited all but 2 states in the
continental US. He even had a quick trip into Mexico for a week.
He would have been 14 April 12th.

Lorraine and I will be lost without him......

Mike in NS

OscarWaldo has left the building.

He has gone to where the good doggies go.

Oh Mike,

You can't get a replacement for a friend like that, but you can give someone else a loving home.

Mike,

I am sorry to hear you lost your "best mate" OscarWaldo last night, hopefully it was a quick passing and he didn't suffer.

...it's been a pretty quiet day around here today.

For a boy who was 1/2 a dog high and 2 dogs long, he was the Assistant
Navigator in our Kingsley...like I said, we will be lost without him! <g>

Thanks guys....

Loraine and Michael,

It's been nearly a year since we lost our little guy, Trevor, and I'm still choked up reading about your loss. I'm frequently reminded of his loving, friendly personality and how much he meant to us.

My condolences to you both.

It has been fifteen months since we lost our dear friend and companion, Willie, a Maltice. We think of and mention him often.

The beauty is that he will always live in our hearts. I agree with Mark Twain who said, "If their aren't dogs in Heaven, I ain't going".

Mike,

I know sorry don't get it or make ya'll feel better. ...but I don't know what else to say. When I lost my Bostons a few years ago I swore that I would never go thru that again. Just can't do it. Since then I have been getting my dog fix from others' dogs.

Two unrelated things come to mind.

First, when we let them into our hearts and homes, we know viscerally that one day we will have to let them go.  When that reality appears some years later, we'd often forgotten it.

Second, we have to learn that "I know how ya feel" while true unfortunately doesn't make ya feel any better.

Tincture of time seems to be the only medicine which sooths the pain.

Johnny, This will probably make you cry. It does me every time I read it. We got a card from our vet when we had to have Beau, full name Beauregard James Hopkins, put down.
Larry

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
