Fan in my laptop was sounding like a bad GMC heater / AC blower squealing and rattling. Tryed 2 different times to order a replacement on eBay for my model X61s and got slightly different styles that wouldn't fit. Getting tired of taking out lots of jewelers screws to work on it and find I have a non usable replacement. Tryed spraying different lube things in there with some minor success, but the bearing wear was still causing it to sound obnoxoius and nothing lasted. So I gave it one last try, took the fan apart at using a q-tip put a fraction of a drop of Valvoline Synpower on the the tiny fan shaft. Purring like a kitten. That's all I buy anymore is Synpower.
