My 1966 427 SS Chevelle with an open chambered 1969 427 L-88 and 4000 lbs. race weight ran 11.80 with me driving and 11.30 with Ronnie Sox doing the work.
M-22, Hurst Vertical gate, Line-Lock, Hooker, 4.30 12 Bolt Posi. and none of that 'cheater' NOS!!!

Remember now this is before all the ally heads and intakes choices.let alone the piston choices back then and all the roller cam/rocker stuff as well.Way before the 419 mph 472/500.Hence the little shot of nitrous.
