I used these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/12Pc-Non-Slip-Stickers-SAFE-T-SHAPES-Prevent-Falls-In-Tub-Or-Shower-PINK-FEET-/221042400296
I stuck them over the roof 'ribs' to know where to put my big feet and in
front of the pod to know where to stand. Mine were in black not pink.

I had always thought that my instructions to the 'customs' guys would be to
ask them to place their boots on the feet up there.
In the 18 years of ownership, not one customs person, guard of any sort,
security person or anyone else, in any country, has bothered climbing up to
have a peek. This includes the Hoover Dam inspection and the Mexican
Highway Police.
Perhaps I should have been travelling with a Doberman instead of a
Dachshund to get a little more attention <VBG>

I was at Manny's one day and noticed he doesn't have a pod, air conditioner or ladder. When I asked he said he built a custom forced air air conditioner by the furnace and took his pod off. When I asked why, he said he all but fell off, catching himself by the rail
I took my pod off. Below I will list the ways I have missed it:

I wish I knew. The drivers door, slide out and all aluminum gen and propane door make it most interesting. Well, that and the 4 cylinder diesel. Creative fellow.

Mike,
HEY! You may have struck on a way to make a big score and bring drugs into the USA!
As big as the pod is we could fill it up and probably make enough to be able to restore a bunch of GMC's and sell them at
ridiculously low prices to, as JimB says; "Keep the Dream Alive!"
If we get caught the USA will provide us with free room and board probably for the rest of our lives!
Waaadaayaah reckon?
