Greetings:

I have a couple of rebuild questions for the "group think".

First:

I will soon be getting some new torsion bars, thanks to Peter H. - I was also going to put on wheel extenders (yes, have read pretty much all the thoughts on them offered here) - Rebuilt and strengthened A-Arms are also in the works.

I was wondering if, while I have my torsion bar cross member out, it would be worthwhile to weld a small support strap over the top of each pork chop indent to help support the additional "load" on that area due to the wheel extenders.

I remember some discussion a while back on a member seeing some cracks in that area, though I think it was not our motorhome cross member - A visual inspection of mine did not show any obvious cracking.... Just some slight rubbing marks/rust.

Second:

Anyone replaced their front stabilizer bar because it was "worn out"? - I don't mean the parts "attached" to it, but the bar itself loosing "springiness" (is that a technical description?) - Mine looks to be in pretty good condition, but I only have visual inspection to judge condition/handling qualities.

Thanks for any thoughts you care to share,

Carl P.
