As autumn has arrived and with it the rain it get clear how much Olga is leaking
Ofcours thats a bummer with all the inside done
Therefore my advice to anybody how is redoing a GMC: make sure she is waterproof before doing interior:

I have 3 kinds of leaks:
windowseals
gutter
frontside window

Windowseals I have chaulked and they are tight now, but it would have been so much easier and better to have take them out completly and resealed them, had I known how easy that is when I had the interior out

Gutter: rechaulked dont want to take it of

Frontsidewindow: Now this is interesting

I took them out and resealed them anf gave them new filt, that did not help much
Then I found out that from the felt gutter there are holes into the inside- anybody know why? They are not there in a earlier set I have When I closed them that helped a lot
But still leaking
So I took a spare window apart abd I can see that the way it is put together it wil always leak The seperate parts should be gathered with a Butyl chaulking
The rubber seals on the glass itselv is also very dry and should be renewed

I will now order a resealkit and redo my spareset of sidewindow and hopefully they will be tight then

I know people say these coaches always leak, but I will not accept that , the war is on!

Don't overlook the roof running/clearance lights. We had water dripping from the front windows, along the front curtain track, down the sides of the side front windows and even back to the large side windows and we're pretty sure it all came from leaking roof lights. We put new gaskets under the assemblies and also gaskets for the lenses. We did the same for the 5 rear roof lights and so far no more leaks. We could see they were leaking as they were badly rusted.

We cut our own gaskets out of 1/8 inch neoprene/foam rubber sheets and they work great, so far at least.

Appie, I completely disassembled my cockpit side windows, stripped (the frames) and painted them. Upon reassembly I applied clear acrylic caulk to both the glass side and aluminum side of the rubber seals (cleaned and soaked rubber seals with silicone lubricant, wiped dry) I then installed the Jim K supplied channel seals for the toll window. Be sure to properly cut the channel seal for the drains and do not block with sealant. If the frame between windshield and side window matches your body color, now is the time to paint it black to match the window frame, this completely changes the look of the coach) Used butyl tape for the installation on the coach. ( be sure to install the toll window latch piece before install).

Tell me why did you not place new rubber seals ? are they available at all?
Did you have slots on the inside of the sliding gutter? If yes what did you do about them?

Appie, I don't know if the seals are available...mine were still flexible and pliable. The seal (between glass and frame) is formed to fit the tight corners of the frame, I used enough sealant on the glass side so it wouldn't ooze out, the aluminum frame side I was a little more liberal. (Acrylic sealant is paintable). It was suggested I use a razor to cut the felt slide channel at the bottom slots to allow drainage...I actually removed material (about a 1/16-1/8") in the area of the aluminum frame slots. I didn't want any pooling, I then used sealant to hold it in place, everywhere except where the drains are.

I installed all new T-slider windows throughout the rest of the coach. It could probably be used as an aquarium now. Look for http://www.captaintolley.com
Captain tolly's creeping crack cure for other leaks, it is a very thin white fluid that dries crystal clear, it penetrates like wd-40, then becomes viscous and stays a little pliable, but not hard, I used this around original windshield seal, both glass side and body side.

I wanted to second how great the "Capt. Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure" is. When I painted my coach, I remove several layers of RTV applied by a PO, liberally around everything on the roof. What a pain to get rid of all that, but paint won't stick to RTV so it all had to go. I then found that I had a few seams that leaked a little bit. I used the Capt. Tolley's creeping crack cure on them, it took several applications in some spots (indicating that there was actually a leak spot), but eventually after about 4-5 coats, it has sealed up the roof seems, and around all the lights, vents, and other fixtures tighter than a drum. No more leaks whatever.

This stuff is like water when applied, so capilary action will pull it deep into the cracks, sealing them up. A big crack may take additional applications, but eventually it will fill and do the trick. A small 2 fl oz bottle did all of my seams on the roof. I now carry a new bottle "just in case". It really works.

Oh, and I got it at a Camping World store, though I'm sure there are many other sources. I don't remember the cost, and don't care, it was worth every penny.

I totally recommend it. If anyone knows anything against it, I'd like to hear it.

I'll second that. I've had my interior out and wanted to fix the leaks before I put it back. My major leak was around the stove exhaust but others around the windows. Applied Capt Tolley's several times and waited for the next rain. No water inside! I ordered mine from EBAY UK. It goes a LONG way.
