When we left on this 3000-4000 mile snowbird trip I said I would try and report on the Archoil products that Armand M. Posted about a month or two ago. I can now say with some certainty that the transmission does now shift more smoothly and likely runs at reduced temperatures, and the generator does run more smoothly. No placebo effect here, it appears quite real. I have no way of doing an exact before-after test over the same terrain at the same speed and load conditions at the same ambient temps to prove the lower temp observation, but it certainly seems far more than coincident.
The generator change is noticeable to both Sharon and to me independently. Is this due to the "friction modifier" or to the fuel conditioner, I don't know. But it certainly appears to be real to the two of us. No observation yet on the mileage or the engine smoothness- temperature effects of the friction modifier yet as we will not add the friction modifier until we do the next oil change. Anecdotal observation is the fuel additive appears to be beneficial to both smoothness and lower operating temperature, but won't know anything about the friction modifier until later. So far, so good.
