Could be a replacement for the venerable V8s we have, too, if it pans out.
Bellhousing is for BBC, so using a "plug" we could use it on a GMC. :)

I expect you could buy a new SOB diesel pusher for what he's gonna have to sll that engine for dressed.  But the GMC with it in would be way cooler.  And the rev range he's talking about, the 3.07 final drive is going to be too high, you'll need to find one of the 2.somethings.

You got the equation upside down. The article is saying that they are looking to run 8500 to 9K (about the same as an RX7 - same rotors). So, you should be looking for an FD in the 8s.

I once owned an NSU Spyder. I got it cheap because it needed new rotor seals. I took the engine out in the parking lot and carried into one of the schools mechanical shops and split it open and replaced the seals. The took most of a Saturday afternoon.

Some years later, an acquaintance needed to do the same job on an RX7. I assisted. I thought the two rotor would be twice as difficult. WRONG-O It was more like the square than just X2. I don't think I want to reseal a 6X3 rotor version.

You do know that Torque is not a word that any Wankle motor even understands - Right? Dogging the Spyder around campus, the typical shift was about 7K. If I wanted it to actually go, the thinking about shifting would start about 9K.

Thanks, but I will stick with the antique but reliable and durable reciprocating engine with its dribble block fuel system for the foreseeable future.

Oh, those of you that think you can get the coach engine serviced because it is stock, give that plan up right now. If you go into a shop these days and they can't read the OBDII to do a diagnosis on the engine systems, these kids today can't do anything. Want some fun? Go into the local casual parts store and ask for some Distributor Cam Lube - Watch for the "deer in headlights" stare. Or, tell them you want a rebuild kit for a Q-jet. If there is an old guy (near our age) behind the counter somewhere, watch him start snickering....

While it wasn't cam lube, I did something like that the other day.

I was asked "What year, make and model?" Sad

I asked for a "real parts man."

Those are getting hard to find, but I have found a few as young as their mid 20's. Rare, but there is hope.

Yer right, I'm reversed today.  And now there are two people in the world who ever saw the MSU with the rotor motor.  A bud in Pensacola was given one for a while to drive and brag about on the air.  Another owned one of the rotor motor Suzuki scoots.   Bobby Norwood set up a couple of RX3s for SCCA racing - they were noisy things.
