Jim Bounds, What ever happened to the above GMC? Very Happy

Bob, do you mean like that? Laughing

BTW - I did not have a clue who did the work or who owned it.
That is why I asked.

Tony,

The toy hauler deal with the original owner fell apart and the coach sat at the Coop for a long time. The last time I was down there
(a couple of years ago) Jim was finishing it up for a band for their touring coach.

Regards,
Rob M.

I think the idea was to have the load (a vintage sports car) centered over the rear wheels. The door up front was needed to avoid climbing over the car being hauled.

Was at Jim B's this summer when I was there. Interesting coach. Jim has quite a few interesting coaches on the property. It was more fun for me than Universal Studios was.

Jim, You just need to hire some college coeds to take people on the tour and charge admission... Very Happy

G'day,

Take a good look at that coach and I think you'll note it was a 23' to start and JimB lengthened it.

Yes, I know. I remember reading along as the project was started.

It would have been nice to see the original concept finished. There was also talk of changing the drivers seating to mimic the sport cars layout... not really sure how this would have been done. Confused

I picked up more information in a couple of hours there than in six months of previous ownership/operation.  But don't tell Bounds - he'll be charging admission.

Years ago, just after I bought my first coach, I drove all the way across the US to the big tourist attraction in central Florida... The GMC CoOp!

(Too bad the coach wasn't up to the trip.)

I spent an afternoon looking and taking pictures. A worthwhile visit for any new GMC owner.

Pictures here, note they ARE quite old:

Are those custom front rims on Larry? Kind of like spacers, but better.
