Does anyone have a brand name for a handheld rivet gun/tool that they like? In the last 5 years I have bought one from Home Depot, one from Lowes, and (in desperation since it was the closest store) one from Harbor Freight. All 3 have broken in moderate use. I'd get one from Craftsmen, but the last couple times I've been in a Sears they didn't have one and I can't find one on the website either.

Thanks,

I have an Arrow Model # RHT 300 Pulls 4 popular sizes. Has a swivel head
for corners & such. Best hand operated one, I think. I also have a
pneumatic one, an ASTRO PR 36. just what I use.

Jeremy,

I have two that I purchased from McMaster Carr about 20 years ago:

http://www.mcmaster.com/#6659a21/=qfqpx3

and

http://www.mcmaster.com/#98300a150/=qfqqhn

The second is unique as the swivel head will let you get into spots a "normal" rivet gun won't let you.

Are you asking for a rivet gun (a pneumatic tool) or a rivet puller? If a puller is it for "hardware store" pull rivets or more precise (and pricey) aircraft rivets. If a rivet gun as you state for installing bucked rivets I'd go to an aircraft tool supplier such as Brown tool or Aircraft spruce. Rivet guns from the big box stores are usually more "brutal" and used for cutting out exhaust systems and not subtle enough for riveting thin skins.

I got this one at Ace Hardware:

I haven't used it much, but so far, it works great. Without looking at it, I was thinking mine was an Ace brand rather than an Arrow, but I could be wrong.

You might want to look at Hanson rivet in Pacoima near LA. Lots of choices
of quality rivets and tools. Good place to get flush pop rivets for those of
us with early 23 coaches and separating body panels. Got to keep it
streamlined ya know!!!
