I did try doing a search and I came up with a guy questioning that he thought the water tank was 30 to 40 gals - but not sure.
Other post asked or gave size of tank.
I'm purchasing a 73 26' GMC.
How many gallons are the fresh water tank and the gas tank?
BTW - each time I do a search and open a link from that page to read it I get logged out from the main GMC page I leave open. So like now - I had to log back in to aks this question. Hmmmm.. Why is that?
Tony (Ontario Canada) Marie and I are blessed to have had a 2nd chance to buy our farm. Still hoping and more importantly praying to be able to build a garage. Our 1970 Ultravan #520 has an Olds Toronado 455 in back.

I had thought the water and black tanks were also 25 gal each. However,
reading the manual, I see the water tank is 40 gal and the black water
tank is 32 or 34. Easy to overload!
But since I was making an assumption on the small side, I was OK when
the 3 city slickers I was with insisted on showers a few days into our
desert stay (we just used a 4 gal camp shower bag as the water wasn't
pumping strong enough).

Tony,
Try holding the 'Ctrl' key down when clicking on a link - the link should open in a new tab or page.
|
Just to let you and everyone else know.
I tried it. It did not work and I got logged off.
Sadly I wasted a ton of time.
I had read some links hoping to find what I was searching for. Then I went back to the first GMC link that I already had opened to post a new topic and I typed out everything. I hit SENT and it went to an ERROR message and asked me to log back in.
I lost everything I typed. !(#$*#%^%(@*%^#*

Read it again. He said the WATER tank was 40 gallons and the BLACK WATER tank is 34 gallons.
I also thought that the holding tank should hold all the water but I checked a Owner's Manual for 1976 and it does indeed say 40 water and 34 holding.

Yes I know from first hand knowledge that it is indeed possible to overfill the black water tank with the contents of the fresh water tank, at least in my '76 Palm Beach. Those that say otherwise may be in for an inconvenient truth.

Firefox has a similar function. Also there is an automatic login option. I haven't had to login in years. If I did, I would have to go find my password again. It is all in the browser setup. And don't forget the 6 gallons in the water heater which makes for a possible 12 gallon overflow problem!

Yes, if you have not examined the sewer tank on coaches, you'll believe the data.
They are formed of material that end up being slightly different.
generally smaller than published.
We know these things as we work on them daily.

No, it doesn't because you cannot get the 6 gallons of water out of the water heater because as soon as you main water tank runs dry you water pump cannot produce any pressure to push the water out of the hot water tank.

I guess I was thinking that the "pump" just pressurized the whole system with air and would push ALL water in the system out.
Sorry about the misinterpretation of the system.
