Here is a link to the first drive on Australian soil
i had some temporary dealer license plates to pick it up from the wharf. but next time it hits the roads here it will have to have a door on the left hand side and will most probably be right hand drive

You get use to it after a few days. Busy multi-lane traffic circles in places like Sydney are fun. On less busy circles you have time to think about and they are no big deal.

I remember picking up our first coach and driving between La Connor and
Ferndale - so excited and thinking everyone that passed me were just about
as excited to see this classic going down the road. It hadn't been driven
much for several years but my lack of knowledge about the coach didn't
deter me.
It was after I got it home and had the late Denny Allen go over the coach -
replacing belts, rubber, and taking the loose parts out of the carb then
tuning it plus replacing one front bearing that I realized I might not
have made it home that day.
I still have an excitement rise every time I get behind it's wheel
(steering).
A day is coming when we will tour Australia and look forward to meeting our
GMC brother there.
Best regards as you venture in your Classic coach.

yes very exciting after the 2 month wait
it arrived here with both batteries flat so i had to take a spare battery down and jump start it
it fired up first go
i was lucky to get home.
latter that afternoon some friends come over and i wanted to take them for a little ride and on driving out of the driveway it started to run out of fuel. i put in 20 Litres (5 gallons) but some crap or water must of been picked up and the engine struggled all the way to the servo (gas Station) put in 100 litres and it ran fin from then

Just like the expressways in Chicago where they drive on the left and pass on the right.

its like when we go over there
all you have to remember is the driver stays closest to the centre of the road
works no matter where you are unlees you are driving a LHD in a RHD country or vice versa

Glad to see it made it all the way to Australia without any transmission problems. LOL! I'm sure Bobby is looking down and smiling.

Trevor,
There is a great scene in "The Worlds Fastest Indian" where Anthony Hopkins (Burt Monro) is driving on the wrong side of the road in
a car he's test driving in LA with the lot owner in the car, the lot owner tells him the same thing.
It's not too bad to remember when you're on city streets, I find even now-a-days I pull out of parking lots and turn into the wrong
lane, scares the crap out of Helen (starts screaming) and anyone that sees a GMC heading right at them!
Regards,

After driving a couple of weeks in New Zealand and then Australia, I pulled into a gas station in Cairns and filled up. Upon leaving the station I made it about a block down a 4 lane street before my daughter started yelling at me that I was on the wrong side of the road.
What shocks me is driving on the correct side of the road at night with no one around. Then a car appears coming at me on the wrong side of the road. It take me a few seconds to realize that I'm also on the wrong side so everything is OK.
