I did follow the procedure and removed the second battery which solved the voltage being so low.  Also the generator light is not coming on as before.  Now the The output from the alternator at the isolator is still low so I will be checking the cables and the alternator today.  Unlike before my vehicle has started up immediately every time for the last 4 days with 24 hours in between each start.  I have just purchased 2 golf cart batteries to replace that stupid big battery in the back and hopefully things are heading to normal again.
