In reference to below, I'm not mistaken, the check valves in the vacuum tank are there to hold vacuum in an emergency. I believe the tank should also serve as a backup if other components in the system leak unless, of course, the leaks are catastrophic such as a suddenly blown vacuum hose or a booster that separates, both very rare events.

Gene, why would any sane person install a brake component that leaks?? AND pay extra for it?????

This is an example of "believing everything you read".  It would be stupid to pay for a vacuum leak because that is simply not true.  Boosters built properly do not leak!  Cheap cremped, throw away Chinese built aftermarket boosters have all kinds of problems.  Properly executed rebuilds on OEM boosters especially those designed for a specific application do not unless they are defective.  If that's the case, go get it replaced.

On the vacuum tank issue, they absolutley work like a charm.  No, you cannot back down a hill-- don't do that!  If your motor stops, brother pull over.  Where you stop is less important that to just get to the side of the road.  Let the AAA tow driver work for that tow.  You are safe and that's what is important.  I have posted the entire build and install sheet on my daily pose.  It is a piece of cake to install and it will work every time.  The only time I saw it fail was when someone made one to show at an ES rally but made the tanks from sch. 20 cheap PVC.  That will not work, you also cannot use 3/8" fuel hose-- you must use vacuum type hose.

This is a soap box I have been on for years, I know this system and I tell you right now it works super.  I also tell you I will not work on any brake system that has a vacuum pump--- that to mee can be dangerous if something happens to the system without your knowledge and brother, that has happened.

This topic, alternator light, battery charging, tires, oils, air ride system, air bag systems-- all of these issues have been flogged from so many sides they all have turned to data.  Folks will do what they will but we all should not impress our opinions to masses without some good information-- be sure you say IMHO if that's what it us if you do not have actual information to back it.  That's how rumours and people getting hurt happens.

Keep your coach maintained...
