Hi you all,
Happy New Year to all of you and may your GMC run great all
yearlong in 2014 and thereafter and also may you have lots of fun with you
special toy. I will try to do the same.
I promised I will contact you right after 12-31-2013.
I got several GMC owners interested with commitments to purchase the new
stronger torsion bar set, but unfortunately I did not get more commitments
to purchase a set of ten sets. Only 7 sets were ordered!
I therefore decided to contact the manufacturer and asked them to
re-submitting a more reasonable price, since the price is obviously a
consideration in replacing bad Torsion Bars.
Apparently they are interested in my proposal and doing business. Well,
let's see what comes of it.
The Torsion Bars configuration are as follows: 1.) the length of the
Torsion
Bars are 58 1/8". 2.) The minor diameter is 1.260" (which makes the T.B.
- Ignored:
approximately 19% stronger versus the O.E.M T.B.). 3.) The Hex is
1.477" on
both sides. 4.) the T.B. is powder coated-white. 5.) The T.B. set is
identified-T.B. L.H. and T.B. R.H. As you can see all measurements are
the
same except the minor diameter has increased by 19%.
All of you who are interested in obtaining new Torsion Bars will have to
contact me and make a commitment to purchase once I will post the new
price.
As I said I am willing to finance the whole project of buying and
committing
to 15 sets only if I get 10 or more orders.
I designed this new T.B. 21years ago and I still have them on my GMC Royale
in perfect condition. My front end is always up to specification.
You can use your existing "pork chops" and bring it up to specification as
well.
My proposal will come forth soon from the manufacturer who is building
these
Torsion Bars and hopefully the price proposal will be will be better for
a
greater participation in this project.
Best Regards
Peter D. Huber
