While working on the quad bag thing, I have run in to a problem with the rear brakes. There is a flat bar that goes across from the rear shoe to the front shoe. On the rear wheel it is a flat bar with no spring. On the front wheel it is a formed 90* bar with a broken spring. They are both worn from rubbing on the hub. Can I replace the formed bar with a flat bar? If so, where can I find these? I'm thinking they should be the same as a 1 ton brake. I have GMC part numbers that I will try at my local parts place. I have two pictures I would like to send to anyone that could post them here.
Thanks again, everyone.

The springs come with a new brake hardware kit. If they are broken/missing I would recommend replacing all the brake hardware as it is indicative of the condition of all the springs. It's cheap insurance. JimK has the kit for $13 for two wheels:

I wouldn't be surprised if Jim could dig up the struts for cheap too. - Dave
