It makes me smile to read the director’s lament

"It's insane, there's no way we could get it to roll,”

These old girls are proportioned just right and firmly planted on their feet. I’ve felt as if I were about to roll over in an old Ford F-250, my old Datsun Pickup, and others, but never in the GMC. Then again I’m not driving the GMC as a teenager...

If you see the movie, all the GMC action is in the front of the movie. After that, it becomes much less enjoyable.
Very obvious in the scene, after the rollover, and the GMC is upright, they removed the roof with tools, not an actual accident caused removal. The roof ribs are left attached to the body sides. Since GM bonded the roof skin to the ribs, I doubt if the roof skin would separate so cleanly from the ribs. iMHO

G'day,

I posted these a few days ago but here they are again for your viewing pleasure:

G'day,

I went through the Anchorman 2 Trailers and came up with these that have GMC content:

In the trailer below Will (Ron) refers to the GMC as the "Bago" when he's standing in front of the deep fryer.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzNUkWFDuKQ

The trailer below contains the footage of the rollover at 0.50 into the video. If you are quick you can stop it there and see the
entire undercarriage. You can move the round ball at the bottom of the screen back and forth to get to the right spot. Note that the
gas tanks and black tank have been removed, there's additional bracing across the frame in the middle of the coach, there's a flat
piece of steel at the end of that cross bracing, the exhaust system seems to have been reworked and there's a large black box with
red writing on it just below the open LPG compartment door.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VdGI5-z_hg

Brief glimpse of the GMC in the one below:

Regards,
Rob M.

Why can't BarryO big ears and the rest of the dunderheads do something useful like stopping the picture boys from destroying the collectibles and the history of our nation?

Then again there's an opportunity. Just parking a GMC outside of a theater showing Anchorman 2 would probably gain some attention and some new cult membe...err, owners.

Yeah, or they might all gang up after the movie and see if they could do some GMC tipping!
Seriously though, I would welcome those new members, but now we're short 3 GMCs for them to own. And they're not making any more, or even any reproductions...all that work those stunt crews did and I can't even get my fender fixed.

A fun, enjoyable thread - and then someone has to make it political.
That took all of three days after the last discussion about this.

I'm guessing Terry thinks there's too much government already but wants
them to stop Hollywood from destroying GMCs in a movie. I'm sure the
Bush's would NEVER have let that happen, so yeah...

*shaking head*...

I was fully intending on doing just that. However our pretty rough early start to the winter has kept the gmc parked in driveway. Christmas light touring, and such put off till they clear the roads of thr ice and snow. Not sure if gmc would get out of my driveway right now.

Sorry Kelvin, wasn't trying to pluck your political nerves, just tired of society taking away everything I cherish and giving me regulations and taxes and fees in return. The previous batch of dunderheads did it too, taking away incandescent light bulbs and strong steady broadcast TV signals and Dodge Chargers and Gran Torinos too. You are correct, I do think there is too much government, as now I will have to sell my house to pay for them and LIVE IN MY GMC DOWN BY THE RIVER!

I'm out

if you stop the movie where you can see the bottom the GMC it looks like the frame was fixed, there is new bracing and a major chunk of frame that looks awefully shiny and new.

I really think the coach was beyond repair and it's screen time will only increase it's fame and fortune.

Now stop bickering you dang kids

LOL!
Reminds of when Oliver Stone was making the movie JFK back in the eighties. He was trying to recreate the scene where someone supposedly spotted a "smoking gun" fired by a second shooter on the grassy knoll...but he couldn't get it to work because modern gunpowder is smokeless! So had a batch of gunpowder mixed that would create smoke...distorting history in the process.
