Wife got me this for Christmas to use in the GMC. For those of us that don't have the central vac system, it's just the right size to fit in any of the storage cabinets so it can go along for the ride and not be in the way. It does need 110V, but a decent sized inverter or the generator will power it. Much better than a dustbuster type vac and can handle liquids too. Only comes with one filter bag, so those who carry hairy pets may want to get a supply of bags.

Merry Christmas!

I'm not sure the coach we are looking to purchase has a vacuum.

Thank you for sharing this.

Does anyone have/used this one?
Do you like it?

I have one similar to that for the boat that runs on 12v. Works well.
I think a wand type vacuum would work much better, unless you're OK with kneeling down/bending over to vacuum the whole floor.

Terry,We have a vac like that and put it under the couch. It is plugged into a outlet that can be turned on or off by the sink.I made an adaptor that is at floor level that the vac hose plugs into. With our wood floors you just turn on the vac and sweep everything to the adaptor. The vac is easily removed to carry around and empty. Photos below

Jeff,

Do you tihnk one could use PVC as a long wand to make cleaning the floor easier?

Jim,

What a great idea! Thank you for taking the time to share pictures too.

The hose it comes with is a little short, but that adds to it's portability to be useful elsewhere. 1 1/4 Hoses and accessories/extensions from any old vacuum can be added to the basic vacuum. Good suction and not in my way...I like it!

I have the 1 gallon wet/dry vac that I got from Wally World. It has the same attachments plus a wand in sections, and a bag for the attachments. I forget what I paid for it, but it was way cheap. The vacuum plus attachments, and my hydraulic jack and the bogie tool for the jack, all fit into the space formerly occupied by the boat anchor (GMC central vacuum system) that I yanked out. The compartment for the accessories is now a nice little pantry. That small vac works great. The PO left a small Fuller Brush carpet sweeper with the coach that works great for a quick cleanup.

I don't much bother cleaning the carpet during an excursion. If I can see it to pick it up, it gets picked up.

Before each departure I will go over it with one of the Kirbys and a shag rack. In the spring, before I being her out of the barn, I will often run over it with the carpet cleaner. I have to remember to clean it before the heating season ends so it can dry effectively and quickly. Does it look like a 40yo carpet? Yes, but that is what it is.

This is the one we use: http://amzn.com/B00DEKVL42

We pulled out the central vac as it wasn't as effective and takes up substantially more space. The nice thing about this one being rechargeable is that it can be easily used outside as well. We charge it at home before we leave and usually get about a week out of it.

Very cool, but it doesn't look like it could vacuum up anything larger than a mouse. What if you have raccoons? :-)
