Is anyone using the Dish Tailgater System in both the house and in the GMC?
I'm thinking along the lines of moving between the house and the coach as needed. Probably not use the receiver as the main unit in the house but with second TV. Tailgater would be on GMC more or less as a permanent mount.
Or, just stick with digital TV and the installed Wingard antenna?
All thoughts invited. PM me, if you do not want to address the group.

Note: Never plan a move over Christmas week. Very painful experience.

Tom,

I just use the Tailgater on the GMC. It nestles in between the rear A/C and the luggage rack at the rear of the driver side. I use a
couple of bungee cords to secure it.

I deploy it on top of the rear A/C and two bungee cords secure it. That is NECESSARY as it blew off once in a high wind, fortunately
it fell off the A/C towards the passenger side and got stopped by the luggage rack and wasn't damaged.

The only requirement that Dish notes with the Tailgater is that it have a clear view of the southern sky to work. It uses a special
receive which you might have to use the same in the house. It comes with 50 feet of coax cable that connects it to the receiver. It
draws power for the satellite dish from the coax cable.

Here's some links for you to review:

Here it is on eBay for $415

Here's a review that shows what's inside the bloody thing - something that ALL of US will love! ;-)

PS - Oops! I forgot to mention that I was happy with the unit this past summer.

I'm using the Winegard, and have good luck with it.  Not the choices Dish gives, of course, but it any fair - sized city there are a lot of on-air stations.  Particularly the PBS services tend to have 5 or 6 channels associated and some are excellent.  This is why, Emory, I wouldn't haggle on the new Winegard price in Dothan - it's on my coach now.   My Kennel Manager often doesn't travel with me, so I'd need to license a second receiver for the Tailgater.  So far, it isn't worth the price.  If/when she makes more of the trips, I'll reconsider.  If I add a dish it would have to be on a ground mount.  The roof of the coach - 23' - is full now.  A/C, Winegard, solar panels, pod, FancyFan and hood for it.
