20 watt LEDs are available as individual assemblies. Could design your own. Might be hard to get pass any State inspection. However, they could be made into effective "fog" lights. Just get the cheap lights from HF and install new internals. Don't forget the heat sink. Leave them on when you need lights at night. About half the drivers around here always have their fog lights on, if their car is so equipped.

And Mike Miller's statement is basically what is happening now in the good old US of A!

As Margaret Thatcher said, "The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people's money!"

The Pilgrims in Plymouth colony found out early on that when people find that they can benefit from the labors of others without expending any of their own labor, things collapse pretty quickly.

Joe, those are some expensive LEDs! Like you said, they require reflectors to disperse the beam, and multiple LEDs to give multiple beams for enough spread. I have seen some of the modern cars with these lights from the factory, and from my perspective (oncoming) they are very glaring. I have not had the experience of driving with them, so I look forward to some reviews from people that have fitted these into the earlier lenses and reflectors. Of course, they have to be the replaceable bulb type of plastic headlight. For my GMC, I'll just stick with the halogen sealed beams and use a relay to avoid having the greater current required run through the 40 year old headlight switch. Unless Santa brings me a $500 headlight kit!
