That was me. I downloaded the line drawings from Byron's website and then used Pixlr to test a bunch of designs. It is a lot cheaper than re- painting the coach 50 times...
I like some of the new designs on the current SOB's, but, besides being too complex for me to duplicate, they need to be ornate, and somewhat dark, to hide the fact that the vehicle is a huge box. The GMC has a fairly streamlined shape to begin with, so it doesn't need a lot.
I'm trying to find a scheme that will fit in at the campground or the stadium.
Feel free to use any of these designs if they strike your fancy. One of my favorites has the "corvette scallop" behind the front wheels.
76 Birchaven - "Wicked Mistress" - New engine, trans, alum radiator, brakes, Sully airbags, fuel lines, seats, adult beverage center... those Coachmen guys were really thinking about us second hand owners by including that beverage center...

Its funny you should be designing these paint schemes... I always wanted to paint mine in Seattle Seahawks colors with the logo...
But I'm sure there is some kind of copyright law stuff that would prevent it? It would look cool if you could use some of the graphics from the teams helmet with the "feather design" and stuff... But I am no artist so I haven't tried...LOL
I would do it once my coach is ready for paint, and then wait to get my hand slapped...LOL
You did nice work though... I might use one of your designs with the team colors and no logo...if that's ok?
Thanks,
Steve

As long as you aren't using your vehicle for commercial purposes you could probably get away with using a team logo. You couldn't sell the paint scheme or use the vehicle for ANY commercial purposes, including and especially anything to do with tailgating at a game, but if it was just for you to show team support, it should be ok.
Now the painter who got paid to put it on the coach, he may get in trouble for making money using the logo. Not sure on that. But if you were to do it yourself, it wouldn't be a big deal. You could also maybe get the team to agree to exempt the painter so long as you agreed to never use the vehicle inappropriately. That would depend on team management.
To be honest you'd probably be better off painting it in team colors and then buying something like a team approved "fathead" vinyl sticker to put on the outside.
I keep saying I will do that with my college logo, but the coach needs to be painted first. I don't think my college would be all that impressed being associated with my current color scheme!

Jeremy,
Harley-Davidson protects their logo vigorously and will go to the ends of the earth to do so, however, I've never heard of them
taking anyone to court for having the HD logo tattooed on their body or tattoo artists for doing them! ;-)

Thanks.
Knock yourself out using the schemes. Its pretty easy to select and replace or overpaint particular colors in a program like Pixlr. At any rate it would give your painter a place to start.
I didn't want to use a team logo because I didn't want to drive around an official university vehicle... around campus I might get students climbing in at stoplights thinking it was a shuttle...ok, maybe cute coed students, but I digress. The birch has a big space on the passenger side between the two windows that would be a good place for a logo. The idea has merit.
As someone else suggested - official graphics are available for purchase - they only care that the royalty gets paid. Hand painting a logo would probably be more expensive.
That said, you could probably use elements of the logo pretty creatively without using the whole thing.

Chiming in a bit late. I've been doing other things for some reason. Could
it be the holidays and I'm with family?
Joe, you've done a good job. Some, as you know, are better than others.
Funny how we think schemes will work and then get them on paper only to
come up with "what was I thinking?" Been there, done that. Some of those
designs are sharp.
Agree, the GMC has it's own set of challenges. The big box SOBs, in my
opinion, went through a phase of doing a good job with the size and then
started getting into the craziness of too many stripes, etc. In my
opinion, Newmar did the best between 2002 and 2005 with their full-body
paint designs. Now they've joined the pack and doing a generally terrible
job. Country Coach did a good job for a while, too. Of course, they're now
defunct.
I've never used Pixlr. It seems you have it under control pretty well.

The lower swoop that bumps up about midway down the coach reminds me of a mid '70's Monte Carlo. I like them, they are fun to look at.

Unless you want to repaint your coach every 5 years, it may be best to go to a conservative, timeless, and professionally designed scheme. The swoops and spears are already out of date.

Interesting conversation. Protecting the logo is up to the organization.
Some are more particular than others. Also, intent to generate revenue
from the use of the logo is taken into consideration.
However, no one has been taken to court for being a big fan and making
some adaptive use. Of course, getting the graphic that is authorized is
always considered "good etiquette." It isn't always about getting the
money for the license. It a part of protecting the integrity of the logo
itself. Money gets involved as a way of control.

Thanks Byron,
I am a repressed artist who abandoned his calling early in life to sell his soul to the man...
I had to learn photoshop for work. Pixlr is a cut down, online photoshop - easy to do layers and has a magic wand tool, so it is easy to do shapes and then place them in a line drawing. BTW, thanks for those.
You can see the learning curve in the paint schemes as I got more comfortable with the tools. And, yes, some are much better than others. . Much better to find the duds in pixels than in paint.
