Ad revenues from the magazine subsidize the rest of the FMCA offerings. Take away the readership (members without the magazine) and FMCA net costs would go up, not down. Take a good look at the member benefits section of the magazine or the web site and I think you will agree it is quite a bargain as well as being absolutely necessary to provide liability insurance that facilitates our club events, especially the large nearly week long events. FMCA management has done a really good job of aligning revenues and costs over the last couple of years. They were completely out of control prior to that and many of us representing the membership were frustrated by a seeming lack of reality. The magazine ad revenues were so great that some staffers and officers thought the gravy train would continue on forever. When the RV business went bust, those big revenues dried up in a hurry and almost swamped the organization's boat. All new players now who have been willing to do the he
avy lifting in the face of some members still screaming for more "free" stuff like the "good old days". Believe me, being a national officer is a thankless job that consumes a whole year of "volunteering". My hat is off for this new group and the great job they are doing running the business correctly in today's environment.

I wonder if FMCA has ever considered offering membership WITHOUT the magazine which COULD lower the cost considerably.
I think there may have been all of one or two articles total in the past year in which I had ANY interest.
To me, it's just one big pile of advertising for stuff I don't want/need and could never afford which just adds to the trash in the landfill.
