Linda, and I bought our 78 Royale almost 11 years ago. Joined GMCMI right away. Wanted a GMC long before that. Had been in car clubs for 30 years. Was on boards of clubs. We've been trying to go to both rallies each year. Widened the entry door in the GMC by 7 in. for the wheelchair. So that we could continue going to the rallies. I can honestly say that GMCMI has brought more joy to our lives then all the years in the car clubs. When Linda had her knee replaced, almost died, and then lost her leg after all that. The club members were there for us for the enter time. The e-mails, calls, and letters were unbelievable. We missed some rallies. But when we did make it back again to the rallies. The welcome back that we got. WOW. The point here is that GMCMI, and sub chapters are a family in a true scene of the word. So, in an attempt to help more GMC owners ( that don't attend the rallies ) to be able to join GMCMI. The board went to FMCA to hopefully help us expand our RV fa
mily. Emery Stora ( the PREZ of GMCMI ) sent me the info below to share this new ruling to our non members on this forum. So, If you are a non member at this time. Please join the club, so it can continue to bring info, friendship, and joy to the GMC family. Next. At this time I would like some GMCers out there to step up to help me develop some new ideas that will bring more value to the club for it's members. I don't need a lot of your time. You get 6 people on a conference call. And it's amazing what can come out of what might seem like some dumb ideas. Such a little bit of input can do so much. So if you really enjoy GMCMI. Show that you do care. Contact me by e-mail, or phone. 319-521-4891 Iowa

If at any time they should decide to join FMCA or renew their membership in FMCA they would immediately be changed to a Member of GMCMI and be put into the roster and be able to attend conventions.

Hey Bob;

Lots of good information there and they put on reaaly good rallies,
and I hope that lots of folks sign up for this new membership. I don't
believe that GMCMI has "sub chapters" as the GMCMI is just another GMC
club like the 49ers or the GMCWS albeit with a larger number of
members.

Ya, Dan. I think you're right. I I was in a car club for 28 years. Served on their board. Chaired 2 regional conventions, and 1 national convention in 2010 that raised $20,407. for that club. They generally made $4,000. at conventions. Then I was expected to do more. Their chat form would get to arguing. Then it hit me that I had to go to a friendlier location. And I was already a member in that location. GMCMI. So I resigned the board, and dropped my membership. It's difficult to sore with the eagles, when you hang around with turkeys. Love eagles.
