Last week Dan had about 1" of ice covered by just under 1 foot of snow. After looking at it for a few days, rather that just let God take care of it he went out and stirred it all up by cleaning off his car, coach, and driveway. Guess which way the wind was blowing yesterday? Right straight at us. We did not get the whole foot here (there must be some left in Dan's yard) but we did get about 8" of it. If Dan had just left that stuff alone, God would have melted it off by spring and I would not have to contend with it up here.
Now I'm trying to decide what to do about it. 8" is usually about where I decide to go out and plow it. Nah, I think I'll let God take care of it. I'll watch the Bears game this afternoon instead. There's no good reason for me to stir it up again and have it end up in Toronto or Nova Scotia.
Laurie, throw another log of the fire please.
Good Morning Dan.

That is the same storm system that came through here Friday night and Saturday morning. It really wasn't much when it came through here as it took around 12 hours for us to accumulate only 8". It actually was less than that in most areas. I was out running around Saturday afternoon and all of the roads were already clean. I'm seeing forecasts for up to 1.5 feet in some areas in the East US Saturday and Sunday.
The stuff that Dan had was really a previous storm from about a week ago. He said they cancelled church last Sunday and schools on Monday. The last I heard from him later in the week, it was melting off of his coach. It was the 1" of ice that he had that bothered me. His forecast show highs all next week above freezing with next Thursday having a high of 63.

A nice place to visit, but I don't want to live there.

My dog came from Birmingham a little over a year ago. This is his second winter here. He loves the playing in the snow and chasing deer and squirrels. You would never get him to go back to Alabama.
Getting him to come inside when there is snow on the ground is almost impossible. He is outside patrolling his property right now.

Dan's appointment was at 7:30. That doesn't mean that the doctor will
actually lay eyes on him within 15 minutes or so of that time. Apparently
being in Australia has spoiled you. No physician in the US would dare enter
an examining room at the appointed time. That's how they make money now
days, charging rent while you wait.
No, wait. That's how they've always made money.

I forgot to say todays high temp was 7F.
Right now it is 5:45pm and -2.2F outside..
Tony (Ontario Canada) Marie and I are blessed to have had a 2nd chance to buy our farm. Still hoping and more importantly praying to be able to build a garage. Our 1970 Ultravan #520 has an Olds Toronado 455 in back.

Dan,
I got this deal for you...
As I cannot imagine being at a Greggless convention, if you don't feel up to the run, please give us some advance notice. If that be the case, we will run to Dexter in time to get your coach to the start of the rolling rally/convoy down the Natchez Trace. That will get you a pitch hit driver and you can sleep in the back all you choose. We have two drivers and Mary drives in daylight more than I do. So, I could push your coach. We'll let the girls figure out what they want to do.
(Did you ever sleep in the back of a GMC underway? I have and it was real nice. But, I sleep on boats - too.)
No, I haven't finished all the plans for that excursion yet, but give me some time after the first and hang on....

Thanks Matt. Our son lives over near Roger Black at the beginning of the trace. We may be able to work something out so we get over there a few days early to visit both of them.
