So I am curious to see what is known about the group of people involved in the design and production of these coaches.

I personally would like to meet/talk/watch a video or hear about some of the people that were involved in the production 40 years ago. What was the mindset and the background process that the GM workers went through.I realize many are older or gone, but I wanted to see what people have found or neat stories associated with this GMC creation.

JW if anyone info or stories in this area, and has anyone worked on some of the production lines and that sort of stuff.

Thanks
-C

Bill Bryant probably has the most insight into the early years and the people. I enjoy watching his videos from time to time.

There have been several presenters over the years and GMCMI rallies who worked on the motorhome project.  The one I remember the best was the interior design gal who related the story at the Marion NC rally 1997 I think, on why there is a stainless steel plate on the door of the 73 models.  A great story.  There were others, it seemed like they all really enjoyed and were proud to be involved.

Chris,

You have asked about GMC MH history.
I have a question for you. The GMC you have is identified as a 1973 palm beach. The palm beach was not introduced until 1975. The 1973 models were Painted Desert, Canyon Lands, Glacier & Sequoia. Here is a link that may help you identify your coach model for 1973.

Please let me know what you find.
Thanks,
