LOL

Have a happy Thanksgiving out there in California.

We actually invited my ex-wife from 32 years ago to come over for Thanksgiving. I found out that she had nowhere to go and only my daughter was stopping by. So we invited her to spend the day with my extended family.

I have an interesting California Thanksgiving story for you. In 1967 I was on an assignment in San Jose and did not go home for Thanksgiving. So I called my mother's brother (my Uncle) in El Cajon who I had not seen in 15 years. I told him where I was and asked if I could come down. He said on the phone to wait until Friday and gave me detailed instructions on how to find his house. I thought that was strange but did what he requested. I arrived on Friday and discovered this was not my uncle but someone else in the same city with the same name.

When I asked why he did not say on the phone that did not recognize my name, he said he was a teacher and assumed I was an old student he did not remember.

I eventually found my uncle and spent the day after Thanksgiving at his place.

I hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving.

Thinking back on the incident, if I had mentioned on the phone that this was his nephew calling it might have made a difference. As a child we called him Uncle Bob, but as an adult I just called him Bob on the phone. It was just one of the many funny or stupid things I have done in my life.

I vote for weird.

Well, as a self-selected collection of individuals who are willing or eager to spend considerable sums of time and cash on these old coaches some (outsiders) might group us all as weird.

I'd say we're exceptional. We exceptional ones are frequently misunderstood by the un-enlightened

There is a fine line between genius and insanity.  Which side one resides on is determined by the observer.
