G'day,
Was reading Dan's "All Pinked Up" message when a thought popped into my head, they make adapters to blow the water out of the lines
why not do the same thing with the drains using a leaf blower?
Obviously the black tank would have to be empty and clean before you did this unless it was connected to a sewer.
I would think you could blow enough water out of an "S" or "P" trap to keep it from freezing up and cracking.
Regards,
Rob M.

When RV anti-freeze in $3.00 a gallon, (I paid $2.67 at Walmart last week) it is so much easier just to pour it down the drains. Most of it ends up in the macerator to also keep it from freezing.

The first time I winterized my GMC I was pretty liberal with the RV antifreeze and while the black tank was empty, I did not re-empty it thinking what could the residual pink do. The next spring the rubber gasket between the gate valve and the black tank was leaking.
I R+R the gasket and the bottom of the gasket was swollen/distorted. I saved the gasket, two months later it had returned to normal. My hypothesis is the solvents in the pink antifreeze caused the gasket to swell.
My last act in winterizing is to drain the black tank by gravity/slinky and purge the macerator by pumping empty.
