Loaded up supplies and been driving back and forth to work the past few days.Fridge cold and full.All daytime driving.Tonight 7:00 pm head toward the highway and before the on ramp the Headlights are almost off!!!U-Turn drive straight home without any lights at all,straight through red lights and such Made it home,thank god, but no little trip.No gen light on the dash???

Did you try flipping the boost switch? That got me almost 200 miles down the road (daylight hours). My alternator belt had snapped.

Another option is to fire up the Onan and let the buzz box power the engine.

My boost switch is a momentary.The lights suck a lot of power.Something stupid is going on as I have no start on the inside genny switch and also no start at the genny start switch either.12 volts at the genny starter though.And both relays clicky when pressed so current there too.I will work it out hopefully!

I have a $1.00 combiner near my isolator. It is 2 alligator clips and an 16 gauge piece of wire. If that situation were to happen, I would install the "combiner" across the top and bottom terminals of the isolator and drive on the house batteries. I have never needed it but it is cheap insurance.

Running the Onan at that point is optional.

On the GEN light, mine was out for over two years. I just fixed it this fall. It was a poor connection at the light socket.
