First few days at school here in America with my mom at my side who spoke very fine American English.
No special class for you kid.
We arrived here February 8th by the time school was out for summer.
I had the language thing down flat.
My Danish stinks.
Oh I know how to get a beer in Danish
I thought the word Yellow was a funny word.
Still do yellow has nothing to do with it's gold color.
Shoulder and soldier are still hard and I served three years in the US Army.
You would think I would get it
After being yelled at in basic training.
Soldier this or that.
Fun stuff.

Howard,
You must love the new "multi-cultural" stuff. Everybody speaks the language that grandfather spoke. No point in learning English, they will give the driver's test in what ever language you speak or you can sue the state. By the state's rules, I could have required the school district to instruct my children in either Dutch (yeah - right) or German. Both sets of our parents spoke English at home (except to each other when they didn't want the kids to understand).
Ballots in Michigan are printed in eight languages (including Ebonix?). So are the applications for all the welfare programs.
But, job applications are all still in English and many require that you fill them in long hand in the office.
And they wonder why they will have to cut social security that we paid into to make up the welfare deficit.
And don't feel bad, I still get stuck on eleven (11), elf just makes more sense to me.
Thank you for listening.
Oh, you can't keep mice out of something like a motorhome. They can run through a hole your little finger will get stuck in. We live in a solid brick hose. If there is a hole in it, I can't find it, but as soon as the weather turns cold, they can.
