Now everything is just about our of my coach and its almost time to decide if I want to re-finish the cabinets or just clean them heavily.
I would like to paint them a lighter shade to match my grey leather chairs and furniture. Do you think Krylon Fusion after a good sanding will work well? Or should I sand then prime with KILZ and the Krylon?
When I sand what grit sandpaper works best?
Thanks now the fun really begins...

If it's that woodgrain plastic you're painting, sanding probably won't help. It already has a texture, and that would just capture your sanded particles. I would wipe it first with some Windex type cleaner to get off any water-based contaminants (jam, coca cola, etc.) and then violate the surface sheen with some acetone or lacquer thinner on a lint free rag. Don't pour it on the surface, just on the rag. Then hit it with the Krylon, which is a plastic, and it should bond pretty well. I don't think the Kilz will bond to the plastic as well because it is using denatured alcohol as the solvent. The Krylon uses solvents that will get into the plastic woodgrain.I would use the Krylon primer first, to get the best coverage with your color coat.
