Hello everyone,

I would like to see if my idea is even worth putting together.
How many of you would be willing to travel, in 2015, to Prescott, ON which is about an hour away from the Nation’s Capital of Canada – Ottawa?

The GMC club could hold a rally here on our farm.

Those who wanted to could go visit the capital, museums, some historical places/site in towns nearby during the day and come back here to camp over night for a week. This could start Friday June 20, 2015 with a departing date of June 30, 2015 or sooner; for those who cannot stay as long.

You would have to dry camp and we could provide water to fill your tank.
Also there are places close by in which one could dump their tanks, for a small fee, when needed.

We would plan to rent porta-potties for the car shows and could do the same for the RV event – to help keep your RV dry camping longer. (grin)

BTW – Would $200 per coach be asking too much for one week of dry camping on our property?

Marie and I are blessed to have a 154 acre farm.
However, I’m no farmer! (grin)
When we first saw the place; I could picture a great fit for a car guy and this property.
Our farm is surrounded by crown land. No house development or neighbors beyond our house and barn.
There are about 30 acres of open fields we can use and we get to enjoy peace and quiet along with nature.

We would like to hold individual car shows and RV events every few years.
Marie and I are members of the Ultravan club and I would love them to come.
However, not many coaches are on the road and few members travel from coast to coast as it is.

With all the work it takes to put an event like this together; I would like to do the two different events in the same summer.

We plan to give the proceeds, after any expenses, to Habitat for Humanity and Hospice in our area.

IF needed I plan to hire the boy scouts and/or girl guides; if people are messy and the property needs to be cleaned up of trash left on the ground when everyone leaves. I also thought I would check to see if either of them could provide food, for the car events; to help share the proceeds while offering food service to those who come to our car show.

We truly want to share and put to good use what we are blessed to have while meeting and having fellowship with people who share some of our interests!

I know there are way more GMC MHs on the road today then there are Ultravans.
For the past couple of years I have passed this idea around the Ultravan club – and no one has shown any interest.
My hope is that we could have a GMC event here and maybe some Ultravans will show up too.

How many of you would like to do this?
How can we make this happen?

Note: if you’re travelling from the States, you’d need to have a passport to cross the border into Canada.

Just a thought – one that I would like to see come true!
Sincerely, Tony

Tony (Ontario Canada)
Marie and I are blessed to have had a 2nd chance to buy our farm.
Still hoping and more importantly praying to be able to build a garage.
Our 1970 Ultravan #520 has an Olds Toronado 455 in back.
