Just ran across a man that has 20 or so Chevy/GMC dually rims from the 80s. I am going this week to take a look at them. Picture he sent me shows bell shape. and he measured the center hole and says it was about 41/2"

I'll let you know what I find out if someone could use some.

Not sure of his asking price yet.

I could be wrong but it looks to me like only the 3rd wheel from the left is the correct bell shaped wheel. Looking at a picture isn't always easy.

All the info on wheels says there are cone shaped and bell shaped. These are bell shaped for sure.

That was my first impression as well. All the rest look like the "cone" style that only fits the rear.

If you can't get 7 of them like the 3rd one from the left in the first picture , you need to keep looking. The one or two on the far right look cone shaped. Leave those where they sit.

If I'm reading correctly, the cone shaped wheels will fit in the rear and clear the drum brakes?

I don't know of anyone that ever tried the cone shaped ones on the rear. Just get 7 bowl shaped rims.

Does anyone know if the newer style 16" steel rims would fit over the spacers that some folks use on the front?

On the subject of 16" steel wheels. I found new steel wheels in northern Indiana at Warehouse Salvage. I have been hesitant to post this info as I have not mounted tires and tried them yet. I did mount the rims on my coach. They are hub centered at the right size. I have disk brakes all around so while they cleared everything, I have not tried it on OEM running gear. They are made in China (what isn't these days) but the quality seems to be quite good. At $35 per wheel I felt they were worth trying. At the time, this place had around 50 of them. They also had the later dually rims and when I told them I needed the older model ones, they directed me to 4 pallets of these rims outside.

I couldn't find these wheels listed on their website.

While those are interesting and should be pursued, I think you had better find a load rating on them. When I was wheel hunting, I came across some that had no rating stamp and were about 10# lighter than the stock wheel. I didn't buy those.

Matt,

Good point. I didn't include that info. They are stamped as DOT approved and rated at 2500# which should be good for the GMC. My Eagles are rated at 2600# so these steel wheel are 100# lighter but well within the load specs of the GMC.
