Well I have the results from Blackstone Labs. The news is as expected...the 403 is in need of a complete rebuild.
Blackstone indicate the presence of a host of metals/chemicals we don't want to see...high levels of potassium and sodium (coolant leek), iron, lead, copper, brass/bronze, tin, aluminum and chrome. Fuel also found (2.0%)...all that has been said about the value of Blackstone Laboratories is true...information well worth the $25 bucks it takes to know the real state of your eng.
So...from here, I will have a new 455 built. I will have that built during the winter and do the swap in the spring...this gives me an opportunity to really clean up the eng. compartment as the eng. developed an eng. leek which, of corse dirtied things up. It is true...I will not see a dime of this money spent when she sells, but my loss is defiantly someone else's gain. someone will be buying an amazing coach with a bread new eng, and a trans./342 final drive with less than 20000 mi. on them.
I'll keep you all informed when she's once again ready to sell.
Dan who is some what stoic about it all....
