Please take a look at the adjuster that I make for Jim K at Applied GMC.

Once installed, it is fool proof and maintains tension until you loosen the
jamb nut and re-tension. This not a hardware store kit.

It employs an engineered drive mechanism that will always self align and
never bend under tension. The adjustment screw is a robust 1/2-13 thread.

You can't go wrong!
