The Eagle One wadding type polish in the can works pretty well. So does Speedy metal polish. I assume your wheels are NOT clear coated

I used Mothers Aluminum Polish and their foam polishing cone to do my Alcoa wheels, which were seriously oxidized. The foam cone fits into an electric drill was a breeze to use. Both products are available at most auto parts stores and some discount stores.
The results were amazing. I spent 15 to 20 minutes on each wheel and now they shine like new. I would post the before and after pictures, but I have no clue on how to accomplish this.

I used the Mothers polish on my Alcoa wheels, and they came out very nice, though probably not as nice as Bob S, since I didn't take more than about 5 minutes per wheel. It's pretty much a given that you'll need some sort of mechanical aid to get them done (like a drill-mounted buffer pad). It's not a bad idea to go over them with a light coat of wax after you're done buffing them, since that will help keep the surface layer of aluminum from oxidizing as quickly.

Somebody told me they use a small orbiting sander with a lambs wool buffing pad on it.

Some questions: Factory coated wheels are usually pretty long lasting when it comes to shininess. I've used the clear coat wheel paint in the can for other automotive wheels that I've polished with some pretty good success BUT?

Are the custom machined Eagles sold by Jim K. Clear coated?

Has anyone had them clear coated after polishing them?

Does the aluminium wheel coating paint available at the touch up
Paint section of the auto parts store work well for this application?

Would you use a courser polish to give the paint some tooth to hold on?

Best regards

When I got new Alcoa's in 2005, I sprayed them with Nyalic (spelled
something like that) as recommended by one of your fellow Canadians.
Today, all I need to do is wash them; they still look nice.

Bob Price has Eagle wheels and they were clear coated as I am told that all Eagles are. He took them to a truck stop to have the clear coat removed and polished. I don't know it they were clear coated after the polish.

Eagles are not coated as far as I know. Back when I got mine the consensus
was to use a spray on product called Nyalic to coat them.
http://www.nyalic.com. I did use it and it did seem to help keep the dirt
and grit from sticking to the wheel. However, you really need to have a good
polish on the wheels before you apply it. I did use it to better effect on
the quilted stainless steel on the front of my fridge and backsplash in the
galley to better effect.

The Eagles wheels that Jim K sells are not coated! None of the wheel sets that my friends bought were coated.
