It's just after 6AM. I called my wife at home (I'm at work) and she was in
the Barn Queen, working on the upholstery. Something about the buttons.
It's not even LIGHT outside!

"How soon can we get that cabinet replaced?"

"I want a convection microwave like the Muellers."

"Where can I buy super magnets to mount window treatments?"

"I used the last of the vaccum cleaner bags for our Kirby on the RV, and
I'm not done yet. I had to special order them, two day shipping. I want to
finish that carpet."

Heh, just what I was hoping for when reading over your post about the "kids think it's cool." Congrats!

Buy her that steamer I posted yesterday.

I think I missed that one. Which thread was it in? I got my Mom a Bissel
carpet shampoo cleaner thing that I might go borrow. :)

I had posted it in the chasing transmission leak thread.

Borrow the Bissell but this steamer is great for headliner, getting dirt out of small cracks, screen cleaner, and as a light-duty parts cleaner. (Great for YOUR toolbox.)

RC,

It's not clear to me: Does the device vacuum up the issued steam and
loosened debris, or ...?

No, it is just a handheld steam jet, a mini Steam Jenny. There is decent force at the nozzle tip to blow out small debris but that force dissipates within 4 or 5 inches.

I've just ordered my 2nd one after wearing out the first. This is my 5th steamer, though, the first 3 being Sharks (which had design flaws but was waaaay better than nothing).

Robin,

Like I told you when I met Dana; "she's a keeper"! ;-)

For the record the Avion has a Suburban stove. The cooktop is bolted to the oven and can be removed hopefully the stove you have in
the Palm Beach is the same as it will save you the cost of buying a new cooktop if you do what I did to fit the microwave. I removed
the valve that feeds gas to the oven and plugged it with a 1/8" pipe plug. I can't remember if I had to tap it out to do that or
not. To fill the hole that removing the valve left in the front panel I got a brushed stainless steel plug that is used when one
removes a tap from a sink. They are available at hardware stores. BTW the convection oven / microwave / grill we have is a Sharpe
R-820JS-F.

You need to explain to Dana that the side of the GMC and window surrounds are made of Aluminum and there isn't anything for a super
magnet to stick to unfortunately. Double Trouble has Guske pleated blinds and The Blue Streak has venetian blinds, I prefer the
venetian blinds because you can pull them down, adjust them so that people can't see in and still get air flow through an open
window. When you pull down the Guske blinds the air can only flow out the sides and bottom.

Robin,

Do your best not to discourage her. If she takes ownership of the interior, then you can work on the running gear.

If you FIND magnets that can hold window treatments to the inside of a GMC, call me first and then the department of energy.

I run the Kirby over the coach all the time (23s never had a vacuum) and I use the carpet cleaner before we come out in the spring. (After the winter'd work in the barn, it needs it.)

Robin,

Use your air compressor to stick into any and every crevice you can and blast out stuff that's hidden. I did that for two days on
Double Trouble because Helen suffers from allergies. You would not believe the amount of crap that came out of hiding I was able to
vacuum up. Make sure you wear a mask as the crap that comes out could contain mouse poop and if I am correct it can carry some nasty
diseases. Also alternating between air blast and vacuuming the carpet will release more dust and dirt.

We could glue a magnet to the window or to the trim, and let it serve as
the "mounting point" for the magnet in the blinds/curtains/whatever, so the
lack of ferrous metal in the body is no big deal.

The street urchins left a light on that I didn't catch and it drained the
battery. D'oh! Put it back on the charger.

Thanks for the advice, Rob, I'll be sure to give it a try, and make a note
for when I swap out the oven.

Can anybody tell me how to turn the fridge off and on?

What is usually done is to glue a very thin piece of steel to the area where you want the magnet to stick. In fact, they make some of these metal pieces with an adhesive back and a peel off strip.

Then you apply the magnet to the item that you want to stick.

You can even buy magnetic strips in rolls with steel strips to attach screening directly to aluminum doors, etc. You cut the pieces to the length you want.

As to the regrigerator, I have never seen one without an on/off switch. Tell us the brand and model number and one of us will tell you where the switch is.

That has occurred to me! She's gonna be all like "Hey, the inside's all
pretty now, so dammit, I want to go somewhere!" And I'll be all like "I'm
sorry, baby, but I've got all this mechanical work to do before we can
really drive it any place," and she'll be all like "WHAT!?!?" and I be all
like sleeping on the couch!

So yeah, I need to get the other belts changed, tanks dropped and cleaned,
fuel lines replaced, swap the nice aluminum wheels off the Royale onto the
Palm Beach, and then check out the electrical system, and maybe install the
Onan.

No pressure. O.o *faints*

Robin...I ripped out the old, dirty carpet in both of my coaches and replaced it with cork laminate...warm, quiet and VERY cleanable. Not expensive in that the floor area in the coaches is not large. Taking out the old carpet got rid of an awful lot of what ever lives in "old carpet"...mouse poop, dirt etc.
We are all about clean !!

The stick on magnetic strips do not have enough holding power for any amount of weight, perhaps just a sheet of paper.
Excellent magnets are available from K&J Magnetics (www.kjmagnetics.com). I'm waiting for my current shipment right now. No minimum order. Ships post office.
At International, I should have my slap up outside window cover to show off. Ken and I saw these demoed at a FMCA Rally in Georgia, but the price was very unreasonable ($400 range).
I will have a slap up door window cover by next week-end. I prefer a very dark cave to sleep in, and many of the RV parks have too much external light.

I have a friend who put cork flooring in his loft and it is pretty sweet. Soft to walk on, not as cold or loud as linoleum and easier to clean than carpet.

Sleep in the "new gmc"
