Show cars. Why would they be boring, stock paint jobs?

I don't think I've noticed the paint above the windshield before.

Here are a few more details on the pictures for the Chicago Auto shows at the McCormick Palace. Thanks for the link as it helped me to identify the location for some of the photos I have (some locations still not known).

Chicago Auto Shows:

1973
2 standard GMC MHs shown

1974 (One offs)
26' "Luxury Limosine" Luxory Limo
23' "Rainbows End" People mover, sports activities, skiing, surfing, etc.

1976
26' "Edgemonte" lower cost 26' GMC
There is an Avion in the background of one of the pictures

At the January 30,31, 1974 Dealer Conference at LasVegas the following were shown:
Transmode announced
Jetney people mover
Medi Unit
Rainbows End
Luxory Limosine
Eleganza SE
Mr. Realtor

The Great Gadabout (23') was also a one off show vehicle, not sure what show.

and

the final show vehicle was Sterling Mist/ Lake Placid (1977)

Thanks, John I have seen pictures of it in its present form. I think it looked better in its original form than now, just my opinion.

A pet peeve of mine is when a unique or special model is modified (example - GadAbout) and the owner still thinks it has a special value. Destroy the unique original character destroys the unique value.
