The GMC 49ers have always been a very social group. Thet like to have members attend rallys and not just be "mail order" members. There is a still standing requirment in the by-laws that you must attend one meeting/rally inorder to join.

Yup, all the other clubs are easy -- you just fill out an application
and pay for membership. I have yet to actually find a 49er membership form.
You can just go visit for the day without having to sign up though.

Bit of a catch-22 there though. It's pretty hard to find out about the rallies if you're not a member.

Karen,
I thought you were already a member.
When I was trying to get in back in 1982, they asked us to wait outside while they took a vote.
We got in, but I really did not know for sure.
They have turned down people.
I feel it is little tight to ask people to come to one to see what were like, then bring your check book the second time.
I think most have come back the second time with a check book and joined.
Sometimes this will give them a better chance to meet more of the members.
At least we do not disown you when you get rid of your coach like some.
