I took some measurements from my old headliner. It’s odd that measurements differ from panel to panel, but for purposes of documenting this I simply used what was there. Sage advice from this list suggested adding 1/8” to each side of the width of each full width panel to accommodate some shrinkage.

The front most panel is too big to replicate from a 4’x8’ sheet of anything so I cut the panel at the front rib, just before the antenna so that the small section was it’s own piece.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Larry, we used our old headliner panels as templates for the creation of new panels ( traced onto wooden door skins to create the base and then covered the basses with headliner fabric recommended by our upholster). There are folks that buy gutted coaches that don't have headliners and there for need the panel by panel measurements...good on you for thinking ahead and offering these measurements...!

yeah, me, too. Sure wish they'd have put all the antenna, etc. holes
through the roof in that space.

I’d like to take total credit for it, but Dave Kelly from Connecticut has a Palm Beach with no ceiling and asked if I could do this. As I’m rather slow to throw things away I was happy to do it.

The side pieces would be harder to measure, but easier to make templates for so I didn’t measure them off. I did have a problem removing the side panels from the “bedroom”. The two panels that go behind the closet and bathroom are held in place by some screws, however they pulled out easily. I cut notches where the screws were and the new panels slipped right in.

Also as templates the old panels were in poor shape. There were very few straight lines among them. I followed the templates closely without sweeting up the lines. If I were to do it over again I’d use the templates as a guide and cut straight lines where appropriate.

I didn't realize that different years might have different sized panels.

My 1977 main panels are between 46 and 47 inches but the front two from just behind my front air conditioner were about 40 inches and 8 inches. So when I made new ceiling panels I replaced the front two with a single 48" wide panel and eliminated one ceiling holding strip.

Wherein you illustrate the difference between an educated man and a highly functional monkey. Had I put more thought into the process it would have been faster, smoother, and, as you did, may even have had fewer seams!

Oh well. Monkeys got to have their fun too.

Same plan here as Emery. Only because I have reviewed lots of pictures on the photo site and the PO also liked the idea.
Thanks Larry.
