While I had my parts business, we towed 14 GMC motorhomes. I also had two others that I sold towed, one by the Lowdoll Jim Bounds spoke of. This requires an 18 wheeler tractor, at least those I have seen do. The second one was loaded on a flatbed with some difficulty as the front end was missing, but it got done.
The primary mover of the other 14 was a 50ft flat bed towed by a dually Dodge diesel. This setup did not require a DOT license/certificate I was told. The driver acquired a set of 14 ft aluminum ramps and he winched the coach and I steered it on to the flat bed. He tied all the wheels down and we never had a problem. He brought a GMC to me from as far away as New York City to Houston also from Kentucky to Houston. He also towed GMCs for other owners. Unfortunately, he was killed in a tractor accident on his farm in Mississippi and that ended my access to reasonable towing.
However, I found him initially on UShip on the internet and you may be fortunate to locate someone comparable. The trick in getting ramps long enough and strong enough to support the GMC. My friend said he found them on the internet.
The lowdoll was amazing. Driver moves the rear wheels forward, bed goes down, coach is winched up, bed goes up, wheels move to the rear and done. But, 18 wheelers ain't cheap to move anything.
I almost bought a dual rear wheel lift truck with a 26ft bed for $15k on the internet. I was told that it could carry a GMC with no problem. Just lower the bed, winch the coach up, lift the bed and tie it down. Since I now need to move a 76 GMC from Houston to College Station(100miles), I wish I had it. Sometime at Ritchie Bros. Auction in Houston, they have one or two of these trucks.
I also know of a flat bed 18 wheeler hauling a GMC, but one needs a loading dock if ramps are not available- - ditto for offloading.
