I thought I would put those arms, and wiper blades on my GMC by getting the arms myself. They are not easy to find anymore. As you can only use one off of each Lumina. The left, and right are way different. And the arms are NOT easy to get off the Lumina. By the time you pay for the gas to go find two cars at a salvage yard. That's $15,or more. Pay the $15 for each arm. That's $30 or more. A can of the proper black automotive trim paint that will stay on the wiper arms. As the 25 year old paint is gone. $9 more. Go to the parts store to get the 2 complete wiper blade assemblies. Jim K includes them. That's $20 added on. Buy a step drill that will not match the proper angle of the the GMC angle. $12. And a day lost in the search and work if you can find 2 Luminas anymore. They crush that old stuff as it comes in. My advice in this case is to get them from Jim K. And the big thing. You'll have the hole reamed out at the proper angle from Jim K for a solid fit to your wip
er shaft. Do you really want to take the chance of having the arm suddenly strip out and STOP in the rain. Due to not having that proper engagement to the shaft on the interstate when you need them the most. It will not happen on a sunny day. I'm BIG into doing things myself as a former industrial arts teacher. And manufacturing engineer. But safety comes first for me.

Bob,
Hard as it is to forego fiddling with one of the thousand things that can be upgraded on the GMC, I wholeheartedly agree with you. The Jims have earned our business. And continue to do so. We are so blessed with them and all the others, some (Ok, most) of whom are engineers in their own right. Thanks for pointing it out. I am taking those arms off of my mall shopping list, long as your arm at present. Anyone for glass sunburst Pontiac dome light covers?

Bob, I hate to disappoint you, but the correct Lumina (dustbuster style) are in most pull-a-parts in the South. Besides, the hunt is part of the fun. While hunting for parts, I managed to find 3 GMC's in the same spot, a corner junk yard, next to a Pull-A-Part.
Unfortunately, there are also lots of these Vans still on the roads in Mississippi and Alabama. In more progressive states, these would never pass any real effective inspection for safety.
Went with other guys to Pull-A-Part in Mobile, AL and one individual recovered about a dozen of the desirable wiper arm.
People also need to recover the motors and the electrical connectors for Ken's excellent wiper conversion.

Bob,
When you find a Lumina, please get the 5-lead connector from the wiper
motor if nothing else. I need those to supply to folks who buy their
motor new or rebuilt to save them a trip to the junk yard -- or paying $28+
for a new "pigtail". Get at least a foot of the wire with the connector.
Let me know when you have some & we'll arrange delivery & payment.
Oh yeah, you DO know about John Sharpe's excellent Electromotor II cruise
control slide show, don't you? And about my super-easy remote control
instead of steering column surgery?
