Going through the receipts from the PO I have the invoice for the Winterfeldt 455. It has a specs sheet with added notation from the late Mr Winterfeldt listing the camshaft as a "custom 111 degree cam."
Now, having played with high performance cars for some 40 years I know a bit about camshafts but I'm not sure what he is referencing with that spec. A 111 lobe seperation angle would have a choppy idle - this doesnt. A 111 degree intake lobe centerline? Maybe, this would be a bit advanced compared to stock I think. Or maybe the 111 he refers to is actually 222 degrees of crank rotation, making it a mild performance cam.

Does anyone have any information on this? I tried Comp cams, they didnt know although they were supposedly the manfactuer. THey did say if I had the numbers off the can nose they could tell me but I hope not to be pulling it down that far.

The engine runs well but I'm curious. Also at some point I will pull the valve covers and check the actual valve lift with a dial indicator to make sure the flat tappet cam is not wiping out, so having the specs would be nice.

I was under the impression that most folks used a Melling MT01 cam back then.  Not a bad cam for this application.  Look at those specs when you check you valve movement,

Darrel did not install a performance cam as they do not work well below 2500 rpm.
He used the RV (recreational Vehicle) cams.

Hi Chris

My engine is a Ex winterfeldt 455.

When I disassembled it he had installed a Comp Cams 260H 212 duration and 260 lift. ( Basiclly a RV Cam) and it had forged .030 pistons. It was line bored creating a sloppy cloyes roller timing chain, and the valve guides had only been knurled and had worn out in 50,000 mi.

In addition to my last post

It had a standard oil pump with cam bearing oil restrictors placed in main bearings 2, 3, and 4. The valve rotators did not work properly pitting the exhaust valve faces.

@ Jim B:I actually think that Melling cam would work better in a GMC. Is your Kryptonite roller cam comparable in specs?

If I were building from scratch I would like to go roller but know it's expensive.

If you have been in the motor building world you kow there are no loyalties and it's not just one part but all of them working together.  Our roller cam also uses different lifters, rocker arms and adjusters.  Plus every machinist and builder has their own "tricks" that go into their finished product.  If you are going to build your motor, I would not suggest doing a roller cam set up, there is machining different and tolerances that must be cut in.  Our concave intake presents several challenges.  If you are building a flat tappet motor, you can use our first cam, the flat tappet 42207-4 Comp Cams cam.  Like I said, there is no loyalty, we paid for 12 hours of computer time with them to produce that cam, ran it on PC dyno and had them produce it for us.  Then I find them listing our cam on their listing-- bad form old bean!  I was told when I brought this up there are no copywrites on cams-- you get the spec and anyone can build it.  OK, so the
world isn;t a fair place but still there are other special parts we use in our build so there is the cam-- what you do with it is your choice.
